The terrifying shooting today in Utah must be condemned. Political violence is never the answer. My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family and the thousands who went to engage in peaceful political discourse and instead witnessed this horrific act of violence.

I condemn in the strongest possible terms the attack on Charlie Kirk this afternoon at Utah Valley University. As I have said in the past and as I will continue to say: Political violence is never acceptable. Ever. The First Lady and I are praying for him and his family at this time.

The news that Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking in Utah is shocking and horrible. It’s an example of political violence that has no place in our country. Gabby and I are thinking of him and his family.

Horrified to see reports that Charlie Kirk was shot at an event in Utah today. It's just awful. The increasing degree of political violence in this country is a threat to everyone. And it must end. My thoughts are with the Kirk family.

We must call politicial violence what it is: evil and an attack on our most fundamental values. The shooting of Charlie Kirk today in Utah must be condemned by all. My heart is with Charlie Kirk, his family, and all those who are impacted.

The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.

I am deeply disturbed by the shooting in Utah. Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family. Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence.

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.
