IoT & DePIN The intersection of blockchain and IoT is creating something entirely new—DePIN. This is about more than just machines talking to each other; it’s about trust and security in our increasingly connected world.

Blockchain is evolving beyond just crypto. From decentralized identity to scaling solutions, the innovations happening now will shape the next decade. In my first @ForbesCouncils article, I explore 5 key trends that are driving this transformation—and what they mean for the future 🧵👇

🧵 Key insights 1/ As rates drop, expect a renewed appetite for riskier assets like Bitcoin and DeFi. 2/ Bitcoin is becoming the backbone of the evolving "BTCFi" movement, potentially driving the next DeFi summer. 3/ Memecoins could see explosive growth, fueled by retail FOMO and falling rates. 4/ Spot crypto ETFs are pulling in TradFi, promising deeper liquidity and more regulatory support.

Lower interest rates could be the key to DeFi summer 2.0. 🌞 In my latest piece on @Cointelegraph, I explore how declining interest rates, paired with rising #Bitcoin investment, could ignite a DeFi resurgence. With TradFi bringing deeper liquidity and memecoins poised for another surge, the landscape is shifting fast. cointelegraph.com/news/lower-int…

I’m hugely optimistic about what happens next. The convergence of technology, recognition, and regulation is setting the stage for unprecedented growth and innovation.

The Importance of Good Governance With the maturation of technology and the advent of clear regulations, the focus on good governance becomes paramount. It’s not just about technological advancements; it’s also about building trust and establishing standards that can propel the industry forward. Proper regulatory oversight is crucial for setting the rules of the road, transforming the chaotic early days of blockchain into a structured and thriving ecosystem.

Clearer Regulatory Frameworks Regulation is often seen as a hurdle, but in the case of blockchain and cryptocurrency, it’s a necessary foundation for sustainable growth. The industry is moving towards clearer regulatory guidelines, which is a positive development. Good regulations help in curbing bad actors and provide a safe and predictable environment for innovation. These frameworks are essential for guiding the proper use of blockchain technology, ensuring that it benefits society while minimizing risks.

Recognition of Crypto as a Viable Asset Class Increasingly, institutions and investors worldwide are acknowledging cryptocurrency as a legitimate asset class. This recognition is a significant milestone, akin to how gold has been perceived for centuries. Crypto is emerging as the new ‘digital gold,’ offering a hedge against fiat currency inflation. This shift is attracting a diverse range of global players, from small investors to large financial institutions, all seeking to tap into the opportunities presented by digital assets.

Maturing Technology Ready for Mass Adoption Blockchain technology has come a long way since its inception. We are now witnessing a pivotal moment where the technology is robust enough to support billions of users. The advancements in scalability, security, and usability are setting the stage for blockchain to become a mainstream solution, not just a niche interest. This evolution is crucial for realizing the full potential of blockchain in various applications, from finance to supply chain management and beyond.

I believe we are on the brink of a new era for blockchain technology. As someone deeply embedded in the blockchain industry, I see a multitude of changes unfolding that signal the maturity and potential of this revolutionary technology. Here are three key trends that make me optimistic about the future:
