I shorted the market over the weekend And then I longed it And then I hedged And then I closed a long at the bottom Then I closed another long at the bottom I am not a perps trader. I never have been. I've lost money trading perps pretty much my whole crypto career. I don't really have the discipline for it, and I struggle to implement and stick to systems. I get carried away by narratives, and by emotions. I know all of this. So the way I do my perps trading is to set aside ~1% of my total portfolio and treat it as gambling money. For some reason, I get a lot more invested (emotionally, intellectually) about how my tiny perps positions are doing and it distracts me from worrying or caring about my longer term spot positions. So yeah I lost a few thousand dollars doing random shit on perp dexes this weekend, but it prevented me from touching my conviction bags and it entertained my wee little degenerate gambling mind. Highly recommend segmenting your portfolio and having your long term holds and spot positions (and cash) in one basket, and your gambling positions in another - for leverage, for meme coins, for whatever you want to FOMO in or out of. Kudos to all the great traders out there who can profit through volatility, but I am more of an investor than a trader, and I know my strengths and weaknesses, and am content with staying in my lane.

hear hear i've invested in 75+ projects and founders in this space sure the price action isn't ideal but serp is one of the good ones and i am infinitely happier with my investment in ethos over 90% of the other vaporware projects and fairweather founders that have graced the crypto space over the last 5 years serp has shown up every day forever trying to solve a real problem and idc whether my investment goes to zero or not (btw spoiler alert, when you invest in early stage companies you should expect your money to go to zero more often than not cause BUILDING SHIT IS HARD) sure there are things that could have been done better but i'll never jump on the hate train for serp, he's a real one and if he ever has another venture i'll back that too regardless of how ethos/whuf/etc turns out and i'm still optimistic cause ethos is a legit product and a solution to a very real problem in crypto (and the world), and serp and the team are still showing up and planning and building and shipping and that's exactly the type of founder i will always want to bet on

So are we heading into a Black Monday crash? My current feed is all doom and gloom and "it's over", which is funny cause a week ago it was absolute maniacal bullposting about how the bull is here and ZEC is going to the moon and NEAR is going to infinity etc etc Which might be true on some timescale, but it gets a LOT worse before it gets better if the AI bubble has burst Funny how quickly your echo chamber can change based on liking a few tweets or following a few people and then all of a sudden all you see is re-enforcement of the same ideas Highlights the importance of curating your own information feeds + thinking for yourself + playing your own book vs borrowing conviction from others My thoughts are that the AI bubble is bursting, soon, and it's a good time to be in cash to buy some epic dips across the board. I didn't take as much profit as I would have liked over the last couple of months but I have started to, and am hoping for some juicy dips to fill my bags with more of the golden children of the cycle (HYPE ZEC VVV PUMP CARDS DRV etc) I still think good coins are decoupling from BTC and we're entering the "value investing" era of crypto where you can buy and hold coins tied to good companies and wait years and do spectacularly well

It’s so tough to know cause of all the various incentives atm but I’m treating it as an epic asymmetric bet where I think farming these early days should at least get to break even or small/modest profit, and then maybe things fizzle out and the protocol doesn’t gain escape velocity or significant traction - but maybe it gains crazy adoption with successful new front ends built on top with their builder codes and we enjoy generational wealth
