As I promised my customers, the free website for the EduCue partner school is done and fully linked to their EduCue portal. They were very happy with the website. I aim to make life easier for my customers. ☺️

@General_Somto Nigerians especially the poor ones are extremely wicked and greedy and lack humanity in them. Only a few of them maintain their humanity.
Again, I repeat.
A company will always prioritise its own interests when push comes to shove. So, never feel guilty about building your own things, investing in yourself, and prioritising your growth too. Be committed to your job, but never at the expense of your own future.
A friend of mine lost a very high-paying job some years ago. He was the team lead, incredibly talented, and one of the most brilliant people I know. So, trust me, this wasn’t a case of lacking skills or not being good enough. The company simply needed to cut costs.
And do you know what he got in return for all his years of commitment? A simple apology message.
That experience taught me something important: never build your entire life around a company that can make a decision about your livelihood without a second thought.
Give your best at work. Be professional, be valuable, and do your job well. But build your own things, develop other income streams, invest in your skills, and create options for yourself.
Don’t let loyalty to a company make you neglect your own future.
At the end of the day, a company will do what it needs to do to survive. You owe yourself that same level of commitment.
No company owes you everything. You owe yourself the best!
Today we’re laying off a large part of the Airtable team.
This is not a reflection of their work but a reflection of our deep belief that small teams ship more and better.
For Airtable, better is about to look like:

I switched to the role of support guy for EduCue today; the school owner had some complaints about email delivery and password reset; it turned out the issue was from their end; they made an error in the spelling of Gmail, they used 'gamil'.

One of the greatest tragedies of Nigerian society is how we have managed to turn honest labour into a source of shame.
In London, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada and other developed societies I have visited recently, a cleaner is not automatically considered inferior. A carpenter is a professional. A plumber is a skilled worker. A construction labourer is a productive member of society.
People earning minimum wage are not automatically stripped of their dignity.
You can meet a cleaner driving a beautiful car, living in a decent home and raising children with confidence. Not because every cleaner abroad is wealthy, but because society has built systems that give ordinary workers a better chance at a decent life.
Now come to Nigeria.
A cleaner is often treated as someone who has failed in life. A security guard can be insulted by someone whose only achievement is having more money. A carpenter is looked down upon until his services are urgently needed. Domestic workers are sometimes treated as though poverty has cancelled their humanity.
We have created a society where the dignity of a human being is increasingly measured by the size of their bank account, the car they drive, their job title and the people they know.
And this is destroying us.
The same Nigerian who respectfully greets a cleaner in London may return to Lagos or Abuja and humiliate someone doing exactly the same job.
What changed? The occupation or our mentality?
There is something fundamentally troubling about a society where the people who clean our hospitals, construct our homes, maintain our roads, protect our buildings and repair our infrastructure can work tirelessly and still struggle to afford the most basic necessities of life.
Meanwhile, we celebrate unexplained wealth and sometimes give more social recognition to people who produce absolutely nothing of value.
This is one of the contradictions we must confront if we genuinely want to build a civilized nation.
Civilization is not measured by the number of billionaires a country produces. It is also measured by how ordinary people are treated, how fairly productive work is rewarded and whether someone can earn an honest living without surrendering their dignity.
A country cannot develop sustainably when young people would rather appear wealthy than become productive because society respects the appearance of success more than the value of work.
The cleaner is not inferior to the banker. The carpenter is not inferior to the engineer. The labourer is not less human than the politician.
Their responsibilities, skills and earnings may differ, but their human dignity must never differ.
Nigeria must become a country where honest work pays enough to sustain a decent life, where vocational skills command respect and where no child grows up believing that becoming a cleaner, mechanic, farmer or artisan makes them a lesser human being.
The real disgrace is not earning a living by cleaning toilets. The real disgrace is building a society where someone who cleans toilets honestly cannot live with dignity, while someone who steals public money is celebrated.
Until we correct this mentality, we will continue producing a generation that worships wealth instead of productivity.
Is our biggest problem poverty, or have we also developed a culture that disrespects the very people whose labour keeps society functioning?
Turned out the issue was from the hosting company. Phew. Massive stress saved. Backing up immediately. 😅. Switching roles from the support guy for some parts of today to the role of developer for EduCue tonight; a few minor updates are on track.
One of the clients I built a WordPress site for contacted me that his site suddenly 404'ed. I logged in the host company dashboard & discovered his site had been deleted; I don't know why yet. Worse news: I didn't make a backup of this particular site; totally forgot, unlike me🤦♂️
@fullstacklover Lol. Yes, when I was still a greenhorn. Now, the first thing I check when I finish installing packages is the gitignore, if I don't see .env, I explicitly add it before any other thing can happen. 😅
For the past couple of days, I've been switching roles for EduCue, the three main roles I filled this period are support guy, marketer and developer(been making minor updates and big fixes). Had 4 hrs of sleep. The longest I've had in a long time. #buildInPublic#entrePreneur
